2003 Thunderbird

Driving a Thunderbird with the top down takes you back to a simpler time. The V8 engine burbles as you cruise comfortably back in time. Introduced as a 2002 model, the Thunderbird enjoyed solid sales but there are big changes to this big-image car for 2003. The 2002 Thunderbird had a great powertrain and the 2003 has 28 more horsepower and 25 more foot-pounds of torque bringing the horsepower to 280 and the torque to 286 foot-pounds. That means much stronger acceleration, performance and fuel economy which was achieved with a new electronic throttle control and variable cam timing borrowed from the Jaguar engine. This car is loaded with features that you would expect from a top of the line luxury car such as variable speed wipers with heated wiper park, auto headlamps with variable delay, Audiophile sound with an in dash 6 disc changer, dual zone auto temp controls, heated seats, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, traction control, ABS and chrome aluminum wheels. Additionally this car was upgraded with the two tone leather seats (black with red inserts) which really set off the hot Torch Red paint. With less than 14,000 miles this beauty is in new condition with the exception of a few minor flaws in the paint and a small scratch atop the dashboard.
