1964 Grand Prix 389
Introduced in 1962, the full-size Grand Prix coupe was a great-looking example of Wide-Track swagger, power and elegance. The clean-lined 1963 set an industry design trend and the 1964 continued that trend with minor revisions which included a redesigned grille with fine horizontal slats as well as headlights that were frenched into the fenders and bumper. Performance is provided by the 306hp / 389ci V-8 with a four-barrel AFB carburetor and a three speed Roto Hydra-Matic transmission. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt 8 years and 5,000 miles ago at which time the carb was replaced with an Edelbrock performer 650cfm carb (the original AFB carb will be included). At the same time the engine was rebuilt the car was repainted in its original color of Skyline Blue, both of the bumpers were re-chromed, the front seats, headliner and carpeting were also replaced. The end result is a great looking, strong running, clean shifting car that sounds awesome ripping through the dual exhausts. The sporty interior is luxurious and has features that included Medium Blue Metallic Morrokide covered bucket seats, a tachometer, a console and a floor shifter. This car also has an upgraded stereo with new speakers in the dash and 6 X 9’s in the rear package tray. Options on this car include air conditioning (not working), power steering, power brakes and power windows. This is a numbers matching car and everything is correct except for the carb, electric fuel pump (original also included), custom stereo and the sweet set of American Racing Torq-Thrust polished 15” rims. If you are in the market for a turn key classic you will find that this 4 owner beauty is need of nothing but a new home!
