1965 Corvette Sting Ray “Black Ray”
PRICE REDUCED $74,000!!! You have found the nicest 65 Corvette in existence! It was previously featured in the September 2007 issue of Corvette Enthusiast and the July 2007 issue of Corvette Magazine. This magnificent automobile was previously owned by Brian Pallas who is the President of the “American Mid Year Society” (www.midyear.org). Brian has many connections in the classic car biz and went to Dean Pallas (his brother) of Legendary Muscle Cars in Huntington Beach, CA to have this car restored to factory new condition. The project started with a very clean numbers matching California car equipped with its original 327ci / 350hp (L79) engine and Muncie close ratio 4 speed transmission. Additional original equipment on the car included power windows, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, vinyl interior (now leather), teakwood steering wheel and knock off wheels. One of the most impressive things about this car is the drive train. The “Bush Series” 355ci engine has an eye catching fuel injection system that was designed by the father of fuel injection himself, Stuart Hilborn, and has been dyno tested at 454hp. Classic Chevy designed the Tremec 5 speed transmission specifically to fit this car without any modifications as well. In fact, this car was the proto type for this tranny which is now available for all C2 Corvettes through Classic Chevy. Just in case the modifications scare you the original L79 engine and 4 speed tranny have both been completely rebuilt and come with a beautiful display stand that you can set right next to the car. Both the performance engine and tranny have been mounted without any modifications to the vehicle so that the original drive train could easily be re-installed without any signs of the race engine having been installed if so desired. “Click Here” for complete engine and transmission specs. The rest of the car is completely stock except for the Diamond Black Classic redline radials and the battery. The suspension, interior and exterior are all 100% correct having used only original parts, NOS parts or restoration parts. As if the engine were not enough to bring a smile to your face the paint on this car is actually one of its strongest points. It is a Tuxedo Black base coat with clear coat that was handled by Kye Young’s European Motorcar Works in Santa Ana, CA. Kye is considered one of the best painters in the country and because of such he had a 12 month wait before he could start the project. Six months later (18 mos total) he turned out the deepest black you could possibly hope for with a mirror finish to it. It has to be one of the nicest black cars in the world. If you are considering a C2 for your collection you will never find another to compare to this one. If this sounds like your dream car don’t wait to call us because it might be too late!
