1965 Impala SS Convertible

The 1965 Impala took buyers by storm and they flocked to Chevrolet showrooms across the country. The beauty of the Impala was that Grandma could order an economy car with a straight six-cylinder engine and those looking for performance could order one of six V-8s. The 1965 Super Sports were available in two-door and convertible form. The 1965 Super Sports included scripts on the front fenders and Impala SS signature bars on the grille and trunk lid. The 65’s also included full SS tri-blade wheel covers and no wheelhouse moldings. The interior had front bucket seats, an all-vinyl interior, a brushed aluminum lower-instrument panel (with oil-amp-temp gauge cluster), a shift trim plate (four-speed or automatic only) and SS door emblems. You have just found a real SS with 51,070 original miles. This was originally a Crocus Yellow car but was repainted in Roman Red about 20 years ago. The paint has held up incredibly well but does show some wear. The original 283 V8 was replaced with a 400hp 383 stroker that runs awesome. It is shifted with its original performance built 2 speed powerglide transmission and is optioned with power steering, power brakes and a power top. Mechanically it is in great condition and I wouldn’t hesitate driving it anywhere. There are some minor things in need of attention which include the fact that the stereo doesn’t work, there is a crack in the windshield, the wiper motor is not working, the gas gauge only reads half full when it is completely full, the handle for the right rear window is broken and the left turn indicator does not cancel. In summary this is either a perfect driver quality car or a perfect candidate for a restoration. With an average NADA value of $19,000 you will find that this beauty is priced to move so don’t wait to call as it might be too late!
