1966 Pontiac GTO
SOLD! This fantastic frame off restoration has put one of the most respected muscle cars in history back to the condition it was when it first sold new. This vehicle is thoroughly PHS (Pontiac Historical Society) documented and the restoration was done 100% by the book. Once down to the frame it was sand blasted and powder coated. This rust free body has all original metal except for the 2 front fenders which are properly stamped NOS GM replacements and the lower quarters which were masterfully blended in. Over $18,000 was spent on paint and body work which has produced a professional N code burgundy paint job that has a mirror shine. All the chrome including the bumpers and moldings shines as bright as the sun. Plain and simple you could eat off of the undercarriage or out of the trunk. The engine compartment, as with the rest of the car, is show quality surrounding the original 335hp 389ci block. Over $8,000 was spent to rebuild the numbers matching WT code 389 engine with original 4 bbl carb. Nearly $2,000 was spent to rebuild the original W code 4 speed wide-ratio transmission which is mated to a Safe-T-Track rear axel with WH code and 3:55 gears. The correct 223 code Legendary Auto Interiors black interior is tight and clean with the dash, gauges and GTO steering wheel all looking great. It currently sits on beautiful date code correct Hurst mag wheels with Firestone Firehawk redline radials. The 5 original rims and 4 original hubcaps are also included. This car is simply breath taking and has an aura about it that will command the respect of the collector car community.
