1973 Alfa Romeo Spider
This type 11502 Italian roadster was assembled by Pininfarina in Grugliasco. In 1970 (2 nd generation) the first significant change to the exterior styling was introduced with a more conventional cut-off tail called the Kamm Tail which significantly improved the luggage space. Numerous other small changes took place both inside and out, such as a slightly different grille, new door handles, a more raked windscreen, top-hinged pedals and improved interior trim. 1971 saw the Spider Veloce get a new, larger power plant (a 1962 cc, 132 hp unit) and consequently the name was changed from 1750 Spider Veloce to 2000 Spider Veloce. It has its original 2000 Iniezione engine that was just completely tuned up and runs great. The current owner of the car just finished having it completely gone through mechanically and electrically to make sure everything is in perfect order and spent over $2900 during the process. Some of the repairs worth noting are that the transmission was rebuilt, a new clutch was installed, the flywheel was resurfaced, a new shift boot was installed, a new A/C Delco battery was installed and a new catalytic converter was installed as well as a new starter. Aesthetically the car shows great with a fresh paint job in its original color of Piper Yellow and a brand new black convertible top. The only thing this car could use is some fresh paint on the rims and some new seat covers. With just 66,537 original miles you will find this car to be a sound investment that you can actually have some fun with!
