1973 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow
SOLD! Rolls-Royce has been a trademark of supreme luxury since its inception in 1906. This gorgeous early 73 model Silver Shadow with 49,591 original miles was specially ordered new by the Bagby Elevator & Electric Co. for £7,119.60 ($13,900 U.S.) and stands as proud today as the name on the front grill. The exterior is finished in a brilliant shell gray (151-2582) with poignant red pinstripes for safety and appearance to compliment the original and recently re-dyed red Connelly leather interior (3086). The interior is surrounded by African burled walnut that was redone with a new improved polyester finish and accented red to blend with the interior. It had originally had the Julian Fawn Cloth headliner which was the finest upgrade available at the time. The interior accents were recently re-done with new leather cant rails, dash and console all complimenting the well kept cherry red carpet. It has the strong Rolls V-8 engine with neoprene seals throughout and a special commissioned Holly carburetor that was done by Hesco Engineering in Alabama. A Silver Spirit electronic distributor replaced the factory points system which all ad to the performance of this beauty. The original carburetor and points are all included as shown. The engine has been complimented with a tasteful Borla exhaust system and rides Rolls Royce smooth with a newer Harvey Bailey suspension. The entire brake system was flushed and replaced with DOT 5 fluid to prevent the internal corrosion these models are susceptible to. This engine was built at a time when the technicians of Crew England would run the engine on a bench and use a stethoscope to detect any noise. If there was any noise it would be rejected. This is also a time when the Rolls Royces were handmade by dedicated craftsmen whose pride was endless. This vintage motorcar has factory air conditioning, power steering, power disc brakes, plus every refinement available at the time including power windows that were reconditioned and work better than they did when they were new. All new steel bumpers were installed in 1996 and at that time it received the upgraded rectangular mirrors for better vision. It also has new black wall English-style tires. This Silver Shadow comes with copies of the original bill of sale, delivery inspection paperwork and over $43,000 in service records. This 73 Silver Shadow is all that you would expect from a Rolls Royce and more.
