1977 Ford LTD Landau Coupe
The LTD debuted as the highest trim level on the 1965 full size Ford range under the name Galaxie 500 LTD and became its own series for the first time in 1967. In 1977, the name was used on two different cars. The full-size LTD and the LTD II both of which were offered in coupe, sedan and wagon body styles. With the introduction of the 75 model year the LTD was offered with a Landau upgrade which included the rear fender skirts, hidden headlamps and of course a Landau top. This particular example is a one owner car that was purchased new in Dixon, IL. We have been told that the dealer special ordered this vehicle to be manufactured on a truck chassis designed for towing but nothing on the original window sticker shows this. It does however show a very long list of options which include the top of the line 460ci V8 engine, a traction lock axle, LR76X15 WSW Radial tires, the convenience group, front cornering lenses, tilt steering, fingertip speed control, power seat (driver only), 4 wheel power disc brakes, the Deluxe bumper group, rear window defroster, a/c with auto temp control, AM/FM Stereo with Quad Tape, the protection group, complete tinted glass, heavy duty battery, the light group, power windows, heavy duty suspension, power locks and rocker panel moldings. This 1 owner classic only has 61,634 original miles and has been well taken care of. It starts up and drives out perfectly. In fact, the only thing we could find in need of attention was that the A/C is need of recharging and the power windows are a little slow. You will be hard pressed to find a documented 1 owner car in the condition of ours for what we are asking so don’t wait to contact us as it might be too late!
