1980 Turbo Trans Am

1980 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo Indy 500 Pace Car. This is number 3,316 of 5,700 produced and includes the notorious 4.9L turbocharged V8 Engine with 4 BBL carb, 3-speed automatic transmission and a posi rear end with 3.08 gears. It also has the much desired WS6 Performance Handling Package with 4-wheel disc brakes. The special Oyster interior show very little wear has Doeskin vinyl (with Hobnail cloth inserts) and the embroidered Firebird logos are in great shape. Other options include the special oyster luxury weight carpet, air conditioning, tilt wheel, power windows, power door locks, Cameo White exterior color with gray accents, unique hood decal and turbo boost gauge are all included and all function properly. This car featured one of the first electronic Delco AM/FM Cassette Players with functional Sound Boost switch. The Turbo hood (offered only with the 4.9L Turbo) was given the Turbo Bird hood decal that turned the Firebird's head to the left and spit out a larger flame than the regular Firebird. The 80 TA along with the red-lit instrument cluster was given the 10th Anniversary Edition "Turbo" cast aluminum wheels (RPO N89). Pontiac laid claim that this car was the first and only production car at the time with a Turbocharged V8 as standard equipment. This fantastic All Original unmolested 38,000 mile survivor is ready to be added to your collection.
