1999 Corvette Hardtop
1999 was a special year for the Corvette as it was the first time it was available in 3 body styles which were the convertible, coupe (w/ targa top) and the hardtop. The new hardtop had many advantages over the coupe as it was lighter, stiffer and faster. Because of these features it was the favored choice for serious performance enthusiasts. This was the first Corvette since the 1967 coupe that was not an open car. The "hardtop" name was derived from the fact that it looked much like a convertible with a hardtop attached. It was actually closer to the convertible than the coupe since it shared many of its parts such as the trunk. It featured the 345hp LS1 engine, was only available with the 6 speed manual transmission and the Z51 suspension system was standard on every hardtop. There were 33,270 Corvettes produced in 1999 of which only 4,031 were hardtops which makes this a much rarer car than the other two models. This particular car has 49,413 miles and has been pampered since day one. It has also been serviced on a regular basis with its last service being performed on 04/07/11 at 49,300 miles. In 2008 it received a new clutch with new synchros and a new reverse gear. Within the last year it got a new battery and new power window motors. Not only that but it is equipped with a nice list of upgrades which include the Z06 chrome wheels, Z06 badges, Z06 mesh grille inserts, a lightweight flywheel, a dual filter K&N intake system and a Corsa cat back stainless steel exhaust system with chrome tips. You will also receive the original owner’s manual, all 3 shop manuals and a car cover. If you have been looking for a C5 hardtop you will be hard pressed to find one in this condition with these upgrades for what we are asking and with its low miles it is sure to sell as quick as it moves!
